What are the key dates?
Applications Round One open: Tuesday January 21st 2020
Applications Round One close: Wednesday February 12th 2020
Winner Round One: participation in workshops and conference in Melbourne, 17-20 February 2020
Notification of successful Round Two applicants: 24th February 2020
Round Two submission close: 20th March 2020
Round Two pitch: in-person or video pitch in the week of 30 March 2020
Round Two winner announced: 10 April 2020
Entry to TEKFISH Australia Incubator: from 20 April 2020
How does the challenge work?
There are 2 stages in the Challenge as follows:
Round One
Top 15 startups/tech teams will be selected to have their pitch deck and video showcased to the Australian Aquaculture industry at the Aquaculture Challenge workshop on 17 February 2020. In person attendance is not required.
Round One Winner will be invited to attend Aquaculture Workshop and EvokeAG in February 2020. (All travel expenses covered)
Round Two
Top 10 startups/tech teams from Round One, selected by industry will be provided feedback and invited to update their pitch materials
Shortlisted startups/tech teams will be invited to enter Round Two of the Challenge where they will pitch for selection into TEKFISH Australia Incubator and qualify for co-investment up to $AUD50K
Am I eligible?
Participation in the challenge is available to either Australian or international startups; scale-ups; or tech teams
Developed solutions to at least an advanced prototype stage with proven technical feasibility and a business model that has achieved early-stage traction with prospective customers
Established ventures looking to scale are also welcome to apply
Applicants must be willing to test their solutions in the Australian aquaculture sector should they be selected
