DO YOU HAVE THE NEXT GAME CHANGING TECHNOLOGY FOR THE AUSTRALIAN AQUACULTURE INDUSTRY?
CHALLENGE 1:
The Australian Aquaculture-Tech Innovation Challenge is the first challenge from TEKFISH allowing applicants to prove that their innovative solutions can solve some of the biggest challenges and industry pain-points in the Australian aquaculture industry. Successful solutions will be eligible to receive co-investment funding as well as facilitated support to engage with the key industry players to trial, adapt and scale their solutions.

Aquaculture Tech Innovation Challenge
Successful solutions should solve real industry problems that may include, but are certainly not limited to:
Increasing cost of labour driving potential need for automated feeding, pen cleaning etc.
High cost of energy and pumping
Increasing requirement for zero-based discharge
Solving water and land restrictions with recirculation systems and technologies
Public pressure due to the disruptive aesthetics of aquaculture sites
Addressing waste utilisation in a ‘circular economy’
The need to move to deeper more exposed waters that will require: self-sufficient energy generation; automation; submerged systems; and protection from damage due to high energy wave and winds
Next generation monitoring of water quality, feeding regimes, animal health, and stress
Mitigating potential for increased intensity of disease and animal health issues due to increased density
Traceability along the value chain
Managing complex data and decision support systems
What you need to know.
